Worship His Majesty!
by Pastor Simon Valenzuela
Psalmist David said in Psalm 59:16-17, “But I will sing of Your strength, yes, I will sing aloud of Your loving kindness in the morning. For You have been my high tower, a refuge in the day of my distress. To You, my strength, I will sing praises. For God is my HIGH TOWER, the GOD of my mercy.”
How much stress can you handle? Nowadays it looks like life is so stressful, as a result many are overwhelmed by it and don’t know how to overcome it. Well, King David in the Bible experienced it too, but he testified that he found refuge in the day of his distress. He found strength and loving kindness in God. He described God as his High tower, the God who is full of mercy and grace. He recorded it in 2 Samuel 22:2-3, David sang, “ The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my Savior; my God is my rock in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. He is my refuge, my Savior the One who saves me from violence.”
Today, we can choose to complain and whine about our troubles or we can follow David’s ways to overcome stress and distress by worshipping God with singing, testifying and reflecting on the loving kindness and mercies of God.
Let us worship God this month of June in Spirit and in Truth.
