Men’s Fellowship:  Every Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. the men meet at church for prayer and fellowship, except the first Wednesday of each month is dinner at a location TBA. 

Ladies Fellowship:  Usually on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at 5:00 p.m. at Yucaipa Church of God, Sandy Lidbom leads the book study of the women of the Bible.

Children’s Church: Bible-based Sunday school for youth at Yucaipa Church of God at 9:30 a.m. led by Joanna Hemsley.

Motherhood and Family

Message by Pastor Simon Valenzuela

    Lovely greetings, Yucaipa Church of God family. The month of May is just around the corner. There are two significant dates in this month that we can all identify with. First, Mother’s Day on the 11th then on the 26th is Memorial Day for our brave Soldiers.

   For sure, there could be no brave Soldiers without brave Mothers. So for the whole month of May our focus of studies will be, “Motherhood and family.”

   In the Bible, what can you attribute the most about Eve?  Many of us would probably point our fingers of condemnation to her eating of the forbidden fruit and sharing it with her husband Adam. Both were found guilty by God of the sin of disobedience and were driven out of the garden of Eden. “To the woman,” God said in Genesis 3:16, “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception, in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you.”  Genesis 3:20: “And Adam called his wife’s name Eve because she was the Mother of all living.”  Genesis 4:1:  “Eve said, after giving birth to their firstborn son, ‘With the help of the Lord I have brought forth a man.’” Genesis 4:25:  “God has granted me another child.” With these statements Eve acknowledged God’s hand in her role as a mother. She shows all of us our choice; we can focus on our pain, loss, or frustrations or we can praise God for the unique joy that comes with bringing forth new life. Yes, generations of sin can be traced back to her, but so can generation of MOMS who give GOD glory for the gift of

motherhood who can testify of the goodness of God.
